The 3 stars will be a blog written after each and every event of the Marblelympics. The three stars won’t always go to who won, but rather it will go to the teams that have impressed me the most in that event.
Well folks, the Marblelympics are more than a quarter of the way finished, and man do they go by quickly. Luckily with 9 events to go, all teams still have a shot at the gold and no one is out of it yet. Some teams however seem to be showing their ability or lack thereof to make it onto the podium.
My 1st star is going to the Savage Speeders. Although the name implies that they should go fast, they have been going slow all Marblelympics long and have seemed sluggish out of the gate. I think this was due to them sitting out the qualifier and only having to perform the friendly event. For all sports the great debate is whether this sitting out creates rest or rust and for the Speeders it seemed to be the latter. Much like Le’veon Bell’s slow start for Fantasy Football owners, the Speeders are coming out slow. This event may have marked a change and I think we should expect to see the SPeeders in th the top half of many more events to come. The Speeders are a good team and they should be able to vie for a spot on the podium again. This isn’t just a fluke, and we will see lots of the Savage Speeders in the coming events.
My 2 stars award will go to the Raspberry Racers. The Racers were able to pull out a 5th place finish. The Racers were a team that I expected to do well and in this event they seemed to perform quite well. Placing 5th overall and posting a time of 28.32, they were able to bounce back from a rough beginning. All it took for them was one good run and they were able to take a top 5 spot. I am still weary to call thema good team as they haven’t shown consistency yet. Even in this event, the Racers were only able to put up one good run and the other was below average. This lack of consistency wil be a concern moving forward, but I think there good performance and big move in overall rankings warrants 2 stars.
I’m gonna be honest. My 3 stars this week goes not only to a team, but more importantly a fan base. The Pinkies have a decent team, but more importantly a great Twitter account. We’ll talk about the team, but man oh man, the Pinkies Twitter account is straight fire. They have a lot of tweets, a lot of fans, and a passion for the Marblelympics. In this event the Pinkies posted 6th which was just okay. However, they are in the top 5 and I think they could be a real sleeper team here in the weeks to come. I don’t see the Pinkies jumping to the front anytime soon, but I do believe that will slowly creep up in the standings and be able to make a vie for the podium as the events go down. For the Pinkies, I think they’ll be able to see the support they get from their fans and be able to use that a fuel to keep them going. The Pinkies are a veteran team and I think they will perform well, while not quite making as much noise as those other teams. Watch out for the Pinkies in the Marblelympics, but also watch out for @FanOfPinkies on twitter where they will surely have more fire tweets to come.
*I do not run any Marblelympics Twitter accounts, but through my investigation on Twitter, the Pinkies have the best account by a mile.
