What is a Team of Destiny?
Teams of Destiny can be found in any sport from baseball to football to hockey. Some people confuse teams of destiny with underdogs, but alas they are 2 completely different things. An underdog for example would be Leicester City. They were a practically unknown team to the average fan, but they defied the odds and were able to win the Premier League. The Butler Bulldogs were underdogs as they made the Final Four in back to back years and were almost able to win it all. These teams, however, cannot point to one moment that changed everything.
A team of destiny is one where the turnaround or success is all spurred from a single moment. The 2011 Denver Broncos are an example of this as Tim Tebow came in and was able to change the whole team around. The most famous team of destiny would be the 1980 USA Men’s Hockey Team. It was a bunch of ragtag college hockey players that came together one night in Lake Placid, New York to defeat the USSR and communism. It was destiny for them as the win that night began the takedown of communism. It was their ragtagness that led them to win.
Team Momo will use Ragtagness to their advantage.
Team Momo now needs two replacements which can basically come from anywhere. I think they might somehow merge teams with the Purple Stars, or call up two of their younger members who are still not perfect. Either way, it’s going to be a group of 4 marbles that put their differences aside and come together to make a run for Gold. Luckily, Momomomo and Momomo will most likely become assistant coaches and be able to guide the team in the right direction. Mark my words! These 6 marbles will all come together and be the greatest comeback story of Marblelympics History. I’m calling it. If I’m you, I’d bet my paycheck on Team Momo to win it all. I say this with no bias in my heart, I truly believe somehow, someway Team Momo will make Marblelympics history.
