Are too many marbles getting hurt?
The Marblelympics are less than halfway done and some marbles are already getting hurt. Momomomo for example has sustained what seems to be a concussion after the bobsled event and its teammate Momomo suffered altitude sickness. This is in addition to the major injury Momomomo had back in the fidget spinner competition in 2017. All of these occurrences have us wondering: Are too many marbles getting hurt?
Facing the Facts
Although it’s great to think that Marble competitions are 100% safe, that’s not true. Every Marble parent knows that when sending their young marble out, there are risks. The good thing to know is that there are changes coming. This year’s Marblelympics have become safer than any previous year before and all the events have already been optimized for safety. With all that being said, there are still dangers as the marbles are competing at high speeds and ramming into each other. Yes, some marbles have had to exit the Marblelympics early, but this is solely a precautionary measure.
How dangerous is it compared to other sports?
Luckily even though it may seem like marble racing is dangerous, parents can rest assured that marble racing is one of the safest sports out there. Yes, some injuries will occur, but there are injuries in any sport. The Marblelympics are one of the safest sporting events in the world. The dangers in marble racing are minute compared to the multitude of other sports the marbles could be playing.
